Kajal is Sonakshi Sinha in Gabbar Singh

The latest development about Telugu Dabangg is that Kajal Agarwal is going to play the female lead in Gabbar Singh starring Pawan Kalyan. Kajal steps into the shoes of Sonakshi Sinha, the role in which the latter excelled and made a mark in Bollywood. Earlier Anushka was considered for this role but finally Kajal Agarwal lapped it up.

Kajal Agarwal paired up with mega heroes Ram Charan in Magadheera and Allu Arjun in Arya 2. By bagging Gabbar Singh with Pawan Kalyan, the beautiful actress has now the record of acting with all the mega heroes who are currently in business.

Kajal has been in the form of her life these days as three out of her last five outings were hits. Needless to say what Magadheera has done to her. Brindavanam and Darling only bettered the stardom of Kajal. Even Arya 2 isn’t that bad. Only Om Shanti didn’t live up to expectations but that film too has gone down as an experiment failed. Great going Kaju!

Mirapakay collects Rs. 25 crore in two weeks!

Raviteja movie Mirapakay is the only movie that clicked at the box office among Pongal releases. No wonder, it has enjoyed superb collections in its first week. The second week collections too were good allover. As per the producer Ramesh Puppalla, Mirapakay has collected well over Rs. 25 crore in two weeks.

Though it appears to be a bloated figure, Mirapakay has done phenomenally well within its limitations. This is the breakup of two weeks collections according to the Producers press release…

Vareva opens in limited screens

Brahmanandam’s son Gautam is back in action again with Vareva. He made his debut with Pallakilo Pellikooturu movie which was released almost half a decade ago. In the mean time he bettered his acting and dancing skills and has chosen director Mahi’s script to reenter the film field.

Made on Movie Miracles banner, Vareva has Shambhavi romancing Gautam. Brahmanandam also plays a key role. This film is released today all over the state. Vareva had a limited release which is quite unusual these days. In Hyderabad city it is released in only three single screens. Even the multiplexes didn’t show keen interest in screening this film.

Vareva has to pick up with word of mouth and positive reviews. Let us see if Vareva can do an Ala Modalaindi and picks up rapidly by second week or not.

Raana is Rajinikanth’s next film

After setting the box office on fire with Endhiran, the Robo, superstar Rajinikanth has decided to act in Raana movie that will be directed by KS Ravi Kumar. Actually Rajini and Ravi Kumar teamed up to do a half hour live action sequence in animated movie Hara. But the duo has decided to go with Rana now.

Rajinikanth will be playing triple role in Raana, as per the news sources. It will be co-produced by Eros International and Ocher studios. Rana is a trilingual and will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

AR Rahman scores the music and Ratnavelu handles the camera for Raana. The technical and special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios. Editing will be done by Anthony and art director is Rajeevan. Raana is expected be launched in March and will be ready for release in 2012.
